Thirty Minutes

So, I do not feel like cleaning up a pastel mess in my

studio this morning. I drag my son outside, and beg

him to give me 30 minutes to paint. Mosquitoes are

biting and I am working so fast with only a box of

Sennelier plein air pastels. This is what I accomplished

in 30 minutes! I think we will practice again tomorrow~

Portrait of a Tree 5"x7" pastel on panel

I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
